Pat Power Garden Dedication
A ceremony was held August 1st, 2025 to name the new garden at the library in honour of Pat Power. In addition to her commitment to the library as the town's representative, Pat was a lover of wild flowers and gardens. To that end, this small garden reminds us of her dedication. The event was attended by family, friends and town council and was opened with a heartfelt tribute from our Town Crier (a Friends of the Library board member). |

Pride 2025 Earlier in the summer we supported a fun event during Annapolis Royal Pride. A drag book reading! Two of our volunteers, Lillian and Caroline, handed out free kids books and fun was had by all! Thanks to Queera Bang for reading! |

Large Screen for Programming Room
The Friends of the Library were happy to purchase and install this new 85 inch television for programming events in the Community Hub’s Music Room. Much to Ken Knox and the town public works department for installing the wall mount. This purchase will make for more dynamic and exciting events and presentations for library patrons and is available for others wishing to make use of it. When you donate used books or shop at our book sales, this is one of the ways we use funds to support our library. |

New Message Board
The Friends of the Annapolis Royal Library partially sponsored the new Community Message Board located near the Market Square.
It includes emergency information and community information (including a calendar of events + information about our library, HUB, and all the services.) We want to encourage locals and tourists alike - to visit our library! |

Grade 5 Graduation Gifts
For the third year we are happy to present grade 5 “graduation” gifts to the students at Clark Rutherford Elementary and Champlain Elementary. We hope they will be inspired to learn, listen, connect & grow at our library. Thanks to our partners Annapolis Valley Regional Library for bundling some promo materials with our free books and Bainton's Tannery Outlet / Mad Hatter Bookstore for helping with the order.

Melanson Collection Presentation
Representatives from the FoL and the AVRL welcomed local resident Marilyn Hunt to the branch. In honour of Marilyn's late husband Wayne Melanson, purchases were made to enrich the library's selection of Acadian and Indigenous resources. Selections were made in consultation with the Grand Pre National Historic Site as well as some faculty from Université Ste. Anne.
